Hello and Welcome!
I am Raquel, a multi-passionate person with an academic background in science (conservation and restoration) and a passion for education and communications. Throughout my career I have supported cultural and educational institutions worldwide in studying, preserving and promoting art and cultural heritage with a focus on translating complex topics into accessible information using various media and platforms.
I am originally from Portugal where I trained as an art conservator (MA), specializing in textiles. As I have moved around the world I have worked on major art collections in various countries, most recently at the Freer|Sackler Gallery, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, DC (USA). I am currently based in Switzerland where I continue to develop scholarly work and projects on object-based learning with cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary approaches. At the same time, I run my own small creative business BeanStalkStudio.

RESEARCH & Publications
'Beholding a work of art, we discern a universal message that goes beyond the constrains of space and time. Though they may do so in different ways, science, history, and art thus unitedly express the basic human desire for knowledge and out constant search for universality along the road of progress'
