Our Story
Where BeanStalkStudio began — and how making things by hand evolved into a creative practice shaped by illustration, art experiences and sustainability.

Alongside my research in Cultural Heritage and Historical Textiles preservation, I run BeanStalkStudio, a small creative business based in Gjøvik, Norway.
I grew up near Lisbon, Portugal, surrounded by forest and the open beaches of the Atlantic coast. Perhaps because of this, much of my creative inspiration still comes from the simple joys of everyday life — nature, colour, curiosity, making things by hand, and the little details that make us happy.
BeanStalkStudio began quite naturally. I was often asked by friends and family to design or create something special as a gift. What started as making things for the people around me eventually grew into a little shop, and BeanStalkStudio was born.
Since then, the idea has continued to grow and evolve. Today, BeanStalkStudio is a space for exploring creativity in many forms — from handmade artworks, illustrations and origami to families with small artists, art experiences and classes for children and adults, exhibitions and collaborations, and projects inspired by sustainability.
At the heart of it all is the same simple idea:
to make things by hand, share creativity, and bring a little more happiness into everyday life.
